Tyre Losing Pressure

A tyre that's gradually going soft, rather than suddenly flat.

What's happening

The tyre feels a bit softer each time you check it, rather than being completely flat — a slow leak rather than a sudden blowout.

Likely causes

  • A slow puncture from a small piece of debris
  • A worn or slightly loose valve
  • On tubeless setups, sealant that's dried out and needs topping up

What to do

Safe to ride short distances at reduced pressure, but check before any longer ride — a slow leak can become a flat mid-journey.
