What is an E-Bike Motor?

An e-bike motor sits either in a wheel hub or at the pedals (mid-drive), adding extra power on top of your own pedalling to make riding easier.

How it works
Sensors detect that you're pedalling (and sometimes how hard), and the motor's controller sends battery power to the motor, which adds torque to either the wheel or the chain, depending on the design.
Signs of trouble

- ⚠Grinding or whining noise from the motor
- ⚠No power delivery despite a charged battery
