What is an Electronic Shifting?
Gear changes fired by a button press and a motor, not a cable pull.

Electronic groupsets replace the cable between shifter and derailleur with a wire (or wireless signal) and a small motor, so a light button press does all the work.
A simple analogy

How it works
Pressing the shift button sends an electronic signal to a motor inside the derailleur, which moves it precisely, self-adjusting slightly over time to stay accurate.
