Frame Geometry (Endurance vs Race vs Gravel)

Why bikes that look similar can feel completely different to ride.

RACE — aggressiveENDURANCE — uprightGRAVEL — slack & stable

Simplified schematic — not to scale.

What it is

The angles and lengths of a frame's tubes decide how upright you sit, how twitchy or stable the steering feels, and how much clearance there is for wider tyres — race geometry is low and aggressive, endurance and gravel geometry sit you more upright with more stability.

Why it matters

Two bikes with identical components can feel completely different to ride purely because of geometry, which is why test rides matter more than spec sheets.
