Tyre Pressure Check

Making sure both tyres are pumped to the right pressure.

Why bother

Correct tyre pressure affects rolling resistance, grip, comfort and puncture risk — too low and you risk pinch flats, too high and you lose grip and comfort.

How to check

  1. 1Check the recommended pressure range printed on the tyre sidewall
  2. 2Use a pump with a pressure gauge, not just a squeeze test
  3. 3Inflate within the printed range, adjusting for rider weight and terrain
  4. 4Check again before any long ride — tyres lose pressure gradually over days
How often

Weekly, or before any ride if the bike's been sitting a while
