Tyre Pressure Check
Making sure both tyres are pumped to the right pressure.
Why bother
Correct tyre pressure affects rolling resistance, grip, comfort and puncture risk — too low and you risk pinch flats, too high and you lose grip and comfort.
How to check
- 1Check the recommended pressure range printed on the tyre sidewall
- 2Use a pump with a pressure gauge, not just a squeeze test
- 3Inflate within the printed range, adjusting for rider weight and terrain
- 4Check again before any long ride — tyres lose pressure gradually over days
How often
Weekly, or before any ride if the bike's been sitting a while
