Wheel True Check

Checking the wheel spins in a perfectly straight line.

Why bother

A 'true' wheel runs dead straight with no side-to-side wobble — checking this regularly catches loose spokes before they cause bigger problems.

How to check

  1. 1Lift the wheel off the ground and spin it by hand
  2. 2Watch the gap between the rim and brake pad (or a fixed reference point)
  3. 3Look for any point where the rim swings noticeably left or right
  4. 4A wheel with a wobble over 2-3mm is worth having trued
How often

Monthly, or after any hard impact or pothole
